In September 2016, Lindsay Lohan claimed that her previous relationship with Russian businessman Egor Tarabasov was abusive. According to Vanity Fair, she had connected with the Russian media outlet Channel One to explain her version of her story. “I went to bed and he broke into my house,” Lohan alleged in part of an incident. “He started strangling me. I was afraid that Egor would splash acid on my face. I jumped onto the balcony and yelled at the top of my lungs: ‘He’s trying to kill me, he’s calling the police!’
Tarabasov denied Lohan’s abuse allegations and claimed in a statement (via the Daily Mail) that his ex was trying to smear him. “It has come to my attention that my ex-fiancée, Lindsay Lohan, is planning a new smear campaign against me in the Russian and international media,” Tarabasov stated in part. “My relationship with Lindsay came to an end in July 2016. In the weeks that followed, there were numerous attempts to discredit my name by inaccurately portraying the nature of our relationship, publishing distorted facts, and making false accusations.”
This story comes just two months after the release of a shocking video recorded by a beachgoer in Mykonos, in which an argument between the two turned into a physical altercation. For his part, Lohan has since maintained the abuse allegations, even telling the Daily Mail about the beach incident in August: “It’s not the first time. That’s the problem. But this time, someone saw.
