Sweater weather hits Chicago this weekend, except for a brief warm-up on Saturday

CHICAGO — Fall hits Chicago this weekend and cooler temperatures are expected, though there will be a brief warm-up on Saturday.

In addition to Saturday’s heat wave, cooler weather is expected through at least Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. It may also rain sporadically this weekend.

Friday will be windy, with a high of 64 degrees and a chance of light showers, according to the weather agency.

Temperatures will rise on Saturday, with an expected high of 73 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Showers are possible on Saturday afternoon and overnight.

It will get cold again on Sunday, with a high of 68 degrees expected. According to the weather service, showers and thunderstorms are possible on Sunday night.

According to the weather agency, similar weather is expected Monday with a high of 66 degrees and mostly sunny skies.
